Jazz breaking news: Terri Lyne Carrington Swings Into The Duke’s Money Jungle

Having picked up a Grammy Award for her dazzling all-female 2010 album, The Mosaic Project, highly respected US drummer, arranger and bandleader Terri Lyne Carrington (pictured left) returns with a major re-working of Duke Ellington’s 1963 album, Money Jungle, set for release on Concord Jazz on 25 February 2013.

Jazz breaking news: Manu Katché digging in at Ronnie Scott’s

If the packed stalls at Ronnie’s on the third night of French-Ivorian drum star Manu Katché’s residency this week are thanks to his place at rock’s top table – a session ace for the likes of Peter Gabriel, who sat attentively as a guest at the bar tonight – tells one story, then the fact he’s decamped from his usual concert hall (or stadium) settings to get down and dirty on the no frills stage here, tells the other.

Jazz breaking news: Match&Fuse vibe up the Vortex with Tubax triple bill

Match&Fuse – the intercontinental band exchange promoters set up and run by WorldService Project keyboardist/composer Dave Morecroft – kicks off the new year with a suitably diverse sonic blast at the Vortex, on Saturday 26 January, with a triple bill of exciting up ad coming bands from Italy and London.
